Why Not Use Contraception? Lots Of Reasons…

Gen 1:28 God blessed them, saying: “Be fertile and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and all the living things that move on the earth.”

Gen 17:2 “Between you and me I will establish my covenant, and I will multiply you exceedingly.”

Gen 9:1 God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them: “Be fertile and multiply and fill the earth.

Gen 26:24 The same night the LORD appeared to him and said: “I am the God of your father Abraham. You have no need to fear, since I am with you. I will bless you and multiply your descendants for the sake of my servant Abraham.”

Deut 1 7:13 He will love and bless and multiply you; he will bless the fruit of your womb and the produce of your soil, your grain and wine and oil, the issue of your herds and the young of your flocks, in the land which he swore to your fathers he would give you.

God wants souls! And we are obliged to cooperate with Him in the creation of those souls. We don’t create them – God creates them and we cooperate with Him when we are open to life. In fact we are commanded to do so.

When we refuse to cooperate with God’s act of creation, bad things happen. Take the child out of the act and a whole world of pain and misery opens up – divorce, adultery, abortion, disease to name just a few.
