"Enmity Between You And The Woman"

Gen 3:15 “I will put enmity between you and the woman”

Enmity: A feeling or condition of hostility; hatred; ill will; animosity; antagonism.

In other words, complete incompatibility and revulsion between two entities. As far away from each other as East is from West.

Galatians 4:4 “God sent His Son, born of a woman” – Paul does not use Mary’s name but the word “woman”.

John 2:4 “Jesus said to her, “Woman, how does this concern affect me?” – Jesus calls His mother “Woman”.

John 19:26 “When Jesus saw His mother and the disciple there whom He loved, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold your son. Then He turned to the disciple, “Behold your mother.”” – Again, Jesus calls His mother “Woman”.

Rev 12:17 “The dragon was enraged at the woman” -The Woman’s child is Jesus. The mother of Jesus is Mary.

The “Woman” of Gen 3:15 is Mary, the Mother of Jesus, the second person of the Holy Trinity.

Jesus and the Devil (evil) cannot co-exist. They cannot contact each other. They are like two magnets of the same pole repelling each other. Jesus is pure goodness and cannot contain evil while the Devil is pure evil and cannot contain good. Jesus has enmity with the Devil.

And so does The Woman – His mother – Mary.
