Life, Death and Life

It occurred to me that, regarding my life on Earth, I’m going to be dead a lot longer than I’m going to be alive. And at my age, I’ve been alive a lot longer in the past than I will be from here on out, so why sweat the temporary stuff?

Why should I spend my time here pursuing the things that I’m not going to be able to take with me? Not that it’s not great to be comfortable, but why would I make those things the end all to be all?

The answer, of course, is that I wouldn’t.

I am grateful for all that The Lord has blessed me with, but I don’t want to be hung up on the earthly things. I would much rather concentrate on the “forever” things of eternity.

And now it occurs to me that, where eternity is concerned, I’m going to be alive a lot longer than I’m going to be dead.

Note to self: Adjust accordingly.
